well after the woeful last edition of this game, I've plumped for this instead of BF4 for now on pre-order.

anyone else?

I feel like I'm taking a bit of a risk, but hey-ho

Waiting for some reviews, but if I do go for it, it'll be on PS4.

18/20 from some leaked French review. I am going to wait for official reviews this time after the dross that was assassins creed 3.

Apparently single player is 20 hours long, with an additional 30 hours for 100% completion.

i've seen some of the achievements on a forum - i'm not keen on the multiplayer - feel shoehorned on to each version that has had it as opposed to a natural extension of the single player mode.

i'll pop a first look review up on tuesday / wednesday

Hope this is a lot better than AC3. Still my favourite series of games but was quite disappointed with the last. Took me a long time to decide to play it again and give it another go, actually enjoyed it slightly more the 2nd time round... But played brotherhood AC2 and revelations about 4/5 times each so far. fking love the ezio games.

I can't find a review any where confused I think that's a little odd not to release a review before the day of release.

Lots of reviews up now on all the usual sites. Good reviews across the board really, though nothing new, so the combat is still totally without challenge and everything you might have disliked before is still there, conversely, everything you did like is still there too.

Probably get it on PS4 I think.

I read something from the publisher basically saying the PS3/4 versions are basically no different apart from some minor shading differences in the graphics which isn't enough to make me wait until I can get a PS4.

Probs buy it on lunch today

played an hour last night and first impressions are that it looks utterly gorgeous.

I've yet to get into the full game play but the jumping / climbing mechanic feels a bit more random than previous versions i.e. you have to line up better to get to where you want to be otherwise you have to take a fall and start again.

the sword handling mechanic at first impressions feels clunky but that could improve the further I get into the game.

I've nearly got everything from the first island and completion % reads zero.

not tried the MP yet.

I only did an hour or two also, looks good but hasn't really got going story wise yet, although it gets into the action a lot quicker than AC3.

I also noticed the free running thing, trying to chase someone and he decides to mount a wall instead can be infuriating at times, but having had every AC game I'm more than used to that by now!!

Anyone else playing this?

I'm enjoying it, it's quite different to the other ACs in some ways, although I'm not sure I'm a massive fan of not actually becoming an assassin till late on it the game, the missions kind of lack some direction

i'm really enjoying it tbh, I love the scale and the sailing mechanic is actually better than expected. i'm not sure about forts and the fast travel mechanic only works if you're on foot so you do have to spend a while sailing between ports and such like.

I like the atmosphere and the differences between the look and feel of different locations, it does feel at times if slightly too much has been shoehorned into one game - ie why the need for crafting as well as upgrading the ship etc...feels a bit Farcry to me.

overall enjoying it a lot, better than expected and gives me an excuse not to play Battlefield 4 whilst they sort out the glitches - thus far BF4 has been risible.
