This weekend i will mount my plenum spacer and insulation gasket on my Chim.
Next week there will be a dynorun.

Can anyone tell me, do i place some loctite between the inletmanifold, gasket and plenumbase?

Cheers,
Pieter

Plenum spacer is a total waste of time but the insulator gasket is worth a punt .

There is no need for any sealant between the inlet manifold and the plenum the gasket is the seal
It makes a better job than the sealant !

Why is the spacer a waste of time? There are a couple of Chims they run better on it.

Use grease or Vaseline on the thermal insulator mating faces so that if you have to separate the trumpet base from the inlet manifold in future the gasket does not de-laminate as you separate the joint wink ask me how I know rolleyes

My Chim is running lean at the moment and is shutting in the revs till 2300 rpm. On the forum there are Some Chims are fittings of a spacer that disapaer the shutting.

I think it to get your plenum to the same cc as your engine
The plenum is sized for the 3.5l
And have read that a 450 needs 10mm
What's 200cc between friends

My Chim is a 430. I think the spacer is 10mm
Most Chims 430 on the forum with a spacer did work out to have a better running engine.

I'm with Daz here. I tried one, went for a drive, came home, took it off and threw in the bin. Made my car drive worse not better. As some of the more informed have said before the extra available air is the wrong side of the throttle. Placebo is a word to remember, some on here reckon that just the fitting of a smooth bore elbow 'transforms' the car rofl
