Brakes at last

Finally finished fitting and bleeding my new brakes, just got to try and get them bedded in before the convoy to BTaP at the weekend.

Thanks guys. I also fitted a larger master cylinder to try to reduce the pedal travel. I fitted one which I believe is from a Ford Mondeo and is part no. LM36315 (Delphi). This requires a 12mm thick adaptor plate and necessitates the servo being turned through ninety degrees.
If anyone os interested I will post more photos and the sketch for the adaptor plate.
I'll also let you know how the brakes feel once I have bedded them in, hopefully this evening.

thye do indeed sir, mine are 330mm with CP5200 calipers and DS2500 pads. How have you found yours so far?

Was after red calipers but had to settle for the standard black

Mine are the 304mm

so far i've tried ds3000 and carbon metallic..

the wear rate and consistancy has been good but i have been suffering from transfer of pad material onto the disks, making the brakes judder.. so i need to play around with pad compounds and cooling..

for the first half of the season they were perfect..

but then they do get hammered a lot harder than you would on a road car and not get the mild braking which would scrub off the build up..

Cheers Graham, another quick Q for you, I was out bedding the brakes in last night and they sound quite noisy, almost like something is rubbing slightly. I am going to have a better look round tonight in the garage to check for anything untoward but wondered if its typical of the type of pads i'm using? Sounds like the pads ringin on the disc. Other than that they seem to be working superbly, still only using them fairly gently at the mo.

Waht are your plans for next season? Are you going to continue with a Tazzie?

Hi, race biased pads do tend to make more noise.

Also depending on the calipers are they race or road version.. the race calipers have springs behind the pistons to push them out and stop them being knocked back into the caliper whenm racing. These can cause the pads to drag slightly on the disk.


Next season...

We'll the tas is being prepared (needs a new engine after the birkett) and the plan is that it will be out next season and we will run it.. But i also seem to have aquired another tvr A bit more race biased from the start that i plan to run next season.

So if you fancy a run next season there might be a tasmin slot available
