Is this Z4 retail worthy?
Discussion
It's not to my taste and each to their own. Like most on here I look through the classifieds from time to time. Actually - all of the time.
I came across this BMW Z4 on their used car app and didn't expect to see this.

I'm guessing it's a case of waiting for the right customer.

That is hideous, and way overpriced, probably nearer 8 grands worth, the 2.5 models don't seem to be very sought after, a juicy as the three litre but slower and not all that quick, though they did do a 2.5 with 204 bhp, think it was when the 3.0 Si came out but that says 2.5i, not sure why anyonw would do that to it, not sure it actually looks real, kind of looks photo shopped.
Yeah heaven forbid someone has actually created a car to suit their own taste and not listened to the majority.
I think it's great that people still don't give 2 hoots and do what they want to do. Too many dull things going on in the World, I fear the last thing we need is to crush any last sense of ambition on our roads.

Yeah, most people are amazingly boring and drab and tedious and mind numbingly dull when choosing car specs/colours. Anyone who chooses a colour based on "residual values" is right up in "Monty Python terms" for a career in accountancy.I think it's great that people still don't give 2 hoots and do what they want to do. I'm not knocking someones choice. Personally it's not for me. However, does it look silly sitting in a franchised dealers network was what I was thinking.
Perceived image, brand values etc. I don't give two hoots about that. I choose a car on what I like, but good reviews and general good remarks are a good start.
Considering the majority of BMW buyers don't realise that they are rwd etc and the fact that the cars are supposed to be a certain age, condition etc. (I know that main dealers can be as bad as anyone else. Or as good). It just strikes me as something that you wouldn't expect to see and I imagine hard to sell.
I'm honestly not having a pop and I've even liked some of the individual/modded cars in the reader's cars section.

That is disgusting and has no place on a franchised forecourt. Pendragon will sell anything, but that kind of rubbish is usually sold through Runabouts or Quicks.
I presume you know who owns Quicks?FFS!
Oh, and a lot of people will be blissfully unaware that Pendragon trade under many banners, Pendragon not being one of then from what I can see.

No need to thank me

Sillier still would be the dealer losing money by auctioning the car on the basis that a bloke on a forum, who isn't interested in buying it, thinks it looks silly and shouldn't be retailed....Wow. Okay.
It was a genuine question. As to me these franchised dealers spend a fortune on appearances. One which this car doesn't keep up with. Same as how they auction off older cars rather then have them on the forecourt.
That's all I asked.

It was a genuine answer. As a sales manager you have to take business decisions on your stock, what should stay, what should go, how much to price cars at etc. The dealer might have a fortune up his kilt on that car meaning it's worth hanging on to and retailing out of, he might just be taking a punt on it, some of the best deals are on the chancey bits of stock you're not sure about.
As I said earlier there is a bum for every seat.
