I have had nothing but fun with my X-plate 450. Many miles of rapid motoring without any problems. Alas, a change in job means that I need a 4-seater that can do 18k+ miles each year so I am selling my beautiful Chimaera. Imagine how gutted I was when a potential buyer, who clearly loved the car, said he had looked at the PistonHeads forum and had seen so many bad reports that he had decided not to buy a TVR. Let's have some more positive stories please!

Isn't that a good thing though?

"That's one bad ass car mister!"
"Wicked car mister!", etc...

I pulled into a garage the other night to fuel-up and a vertible crowd of adoring kids swarmed around the car. They were mumbling and gesturing towards the car so with incredible aplomb I said, "Its a TVR Chimaera" to which one of the 10 year old boys replied, " yeah we know we were just arguing over why both the 4.0ltr and the later 4.0 ltr HC engine had the same 0-60 time and max speed"

Laughed, I nearly poohed, so i let them take turns sitting in it while i went and paid, how embarrassing?!?

I nearly let the naysayers put me off TVR.

Pah! I've had mine a whole month and nothing's gone wrong (waiting, waiting).

I'll tell anyone who asks mine's been the most reliable car I've ever had 33,000 miles with only the odd niggle. Get loads of "Nice car Mister" from kids, loads of fun and not even hideously expensive to run compared with anything else with the same performance.
Fave moments include the teenage girl who shouted out "Nice car mate...and you're dead fit" Which, although I'm old enough to be her Dad, made my month, or the kid in his dads 911 leaning out of the window to see what was drowning out his old man's Porker.
Or possibly the full five seconds of silence I got from an old mate when he rang up to boast that he'd just bought a Boxster "Really?" I replied "You'd better take it back and trade it in for a 911, I just bought a TVR, it's LOADS faster." The silence was deafening and he did go and trade it in for a 911 just 6 months later.

I found and started using PH when i was after a BMW M5.

I now have a Chimaera 5.0, loving every minute I drive it, it's going in for Taraka on Saturday.

When anyone asks how fast mine is I just say I don't know and don't care because it's really, really loud.
