I read an article in the recent Auto Express saying that these locations had the highest proportion of drivers with points on their licence in the UK! Over zealous policing?
What I would like to have read is that these areas also had the lowest overall crime rate; highest detection rates for crimes and the communities which felt safest in the UK! Amazingly such comparable statistics are not there! Do we have lower accidents than rest of UK?

So what is the conclusion? That the police are preoccupied with 'easy policing'? The reason I am critical is that we have reported three crimes recently. The police issued a crime number and nothing else. A ned smeared blood all over the lounge windows after smashing up a mirror on our car outside the house and cutting his hands. The police wouldnt even send out forensics and said no crime had been committed!

I support our police almost unreservedly. I just wonder if they are just eroding all the goodwill they have. Easy and lazy policing for statistics is always counter productive.

It seems too many are in a hurry now days and driving a hgv all day I see it all
Including the unmarked cars catching them.

They are now using HGv's and catching them on phones and now stopping cos they have there phone sitting on there lap

I see 20-40 drivers a day with phone on lap also on phone and texting while driving

Been caught for the heinous crime of not wearing my seatbelt twice in Killie, 2nd time they came after me wheels spinning, sirens lights the whole works, much easier than going into "The Scheme" to catch criminals?
Also, I have a s29 for raping grannies a wee wheelspin in the van, next day plod arrive at my door ON FOOT to issue me with the warning, took them 2 days IN A CAR to arrive when I reported a break-in at my lockups.
So, yes, I reckon the easier option is being taken. Hand out fines to the motorist or apprehend a big drunken bd on a Saturday night?

PS, the specs cameras on the A77 are mostly fake so I doubt they are a huge contributory factor.

So you're saying only 2 sets of cameras work? I would expect a very low proportion of traffic goes through both in one journey, so where do the tickets come from?

I thought I was pretty clear? The ONES at Hansel & the seaweed factory? IE 2 cameras 1/4 a mile apart each site? If the average over the whole road was taken you'd be lucky to average 35mph taking roundabouts, tractors etc into the equation. But as this is Pishtonheads everyone will now disbelieve me so go look for yourself, stop at one, look for the cable ducting manhole?

With no allegiance to Mr. Humper, I can vouch that on certain sections of the A77, my car's speedometer does not appear to have been calibrated remotely within the same tolerances as the SPECS cameras.

Clearly a warranty issue...

Specs on the A77 are pish.

The only active ones are the first two at the killie end then the ones further down as Humper says.

You can tell as the cameras look physically different.
