Anyone know anything about this car?

I seem to remember this being up for sale earlier in the year. The seller had two cars at the time. Both in the pictures.

Tempted to go and have a look as I really would like a 400se and then one day maybe a 450.

That looks like a really nice Wedge and a nice colour too, but I seem to remember someone went to have a look at it the last time it was up for sale during the summer months, when the guy had two Wedges up for sale and they said it looked a bit shabby.

Yep that's exactly what I thought Tony.

But it looks really good in the pics so I might have a look as its not far away and for me is just about the perfect colour combination ( Due to bright Yellow 400's being few and far between)

Saying that I did have a look at one last year that looked fantastic in the pics but was very disappointing in the flesh.

I'll give him a bell tomorrow.

Absence of pinstripes and the non-standard decals suggest it's been repainted - not necessarily a bad thing if done properly, and there is a good explanation why (i.e. has it been in a prang?). If you discount the owner who had it for 20 years, it works out at 7 owners in the space of 4 years during its history, which does seem a lot. Interesting front speaker panels as well.

Just had a chat with the Guy

He has four at present a Giff, 2 400se's and a Classic. One has to go. Seemed a nice Guy so I'll have a look in the week.

Apparently the body work on the red one is very close to perfect but it's tatty inside and the chassis is solid but not pretty. Engine standard but good.

The black one has been re-mapped and is a bit of a flying machine with a good chassis but rough paint. Very good interior.

Worth a look and only 30 mins away.

As I'm sure you know, it's not easy to check the top and inner side front and rear of the outriggers, even with the car on stands and wheels off. They're all 23 odd years old now. Is he buying and selling for profit or just likes collecting 400s?

Will do Stu

I'm going over one night in the week. But I think when he said one has to go I think he was referring to the Wedges? But you never know.

Check chassis for rot, chances are it needs welding, £4000 offer would make it a decent resto project

Hard to tell but I think he's just a TVR nut like the rest of us. Looking forward to going over for a look. He gave me some advice regarding Griffs. As although I can't imagine being without a Wedge now I finally have one. One of my all time favourite cars is the Griff. But that will have to wait until the kids are grown up, paid for and educated :-)

From the brief chat we had. Sounds like he looks for cars he likes. Tries them and the keeps them or moves them on. Had around 14 TVRs over the years. Spent some time looking for his ultimate which is the Griff per cat 4.3 BV and now has one. Gagging for a look at that as well.

My garage is pretty stuffed and my bank account isn't. So it will have to be the right car for me to take the plunge. Prices seem keen for the 400's though.

I was sure I read a negative about these somewhere Ian. That's why I posted it as soon as I saw it/them or sale again. Would love some email advice if anyone has been. But failing that I'll take a look.

Well spotted that man

I got so focused on the fact I'd seen it before. Never thought to look at my own posts what a €$#%.

Might not bother taking a look after all then.

Cheers Karl.

Surely must be worth a look at least? I would, even to gauge condition against others? (for newbies like me anyway lol)

So now it's 9 owners in the space of 4 years. Something wrong if s had so many over such a short period.
