I tried changing wing end plates yesterday, only to find that 3 of the 6 threads in the spoiler are knackered and the bolts just slide in and out.
So as far as I can tell I have 2 options;

-Fit bigger size bolts and have to drill out the end plates
-Repair the thread somehow, which would probably mean filling the holes & drill + tap a new thread.

I think the 2nd option is my best bet, but what to use to fill the holes?

someone who's taken off the plates before can confirm if this is possible:

how about drilling out and helicoiling? You get to retain the standard bolt size and position then?

Fill with resin or a little p40... From memory the screws only go into glass fibre anyhow hence they strip easily.

I did think about helicoil but there is only about 5-10mm of material where the bolts go through, then the wing is hollow

Got a similar problem as mine have been on a off many times !!! Not sure how to fix it but Andy's idea of filling the tapping out sounds good .

Well I took Andy's advice, went and got some P40, filled the holes then drilled and tapped. Seems to have done the job!
Quite tricky getting the fibreglass actually in the holes tho, but easy enough to get everywhere else!!
