messing about with wheels and tyres
Discussion
its getting harder to buy fat 15 inch tyres these days!!!

Looking for wider 15 inch tyres in a comparable profile height to keep a period look is getting pretty difficult..I can get some Porsche Turbo fitment ones specially made at a small fortune..
16 inch is looking like the way to go but I think the new 16 inch minilite doesn't look as good as the earlier 15"
decisions decisions.

You could try the Blockley 205/70/15 vs that we are using on the Tuscan however as yet I cant report on there performance a number of E Type Jag owners have given good reviews £155 plus vat a corner but they may do a deal if ordering a set of 5

They are narrow tyres andrew.. need 235 - 245 min.A

I did suspect that was the case.
Why for a road car you want to go that wide my Merc has 245 on the front seems rather large for a little road car.

Its the rears that need to be fat..Fronts will be on 7's with a 205 most probably.

Great in the Dry as long as you get enough heat into then (not always easy on a road car) will it not become a surf board at the back in the wet will be interesting to see how your Dad gets on.

not sure I get where your going with that andrew..Applying that logic would mean that sticking with the 165 x 15 or going narrower would make the car faster. Grip isn't just a factor of tyres and width. Suspension set up etc also plays a part.Or is it Dads car in name only (hehe)

This is definitely dads car..he has built most of it so far.

Well in the wet a wider tyre on a light car will not create the same grip as a narrower tyre yes the set up will effect this but seems rather wide. This is definitely dads car..he has built most of it so far.

Maybe I have read to many reports on tyres in the last month
(hehe)will look forward to seeing Dad burning some rubber
