When I bought my Vantage a few weeks ago, it had a Parrot Bluetooth thingy stuck on with velcro (ahem).

I want it gone, but:

1. I can't see where the lead goes to (for example, it doesn't come out in the glove box). Can I just cut the cable and push it inside the console? Is that then a live wire dangling inside?
2. Once I figure out how to get the parrot out, what happens when I try to take out the velcro? Will it just leave a discoloured area, or will it rip some of the panel with it?

Thanking yous muchly...

That's a disgrace mad

Whoever did that should never be allowed to own a decent car again and provide part of your solution by having to lick the velcro off.

Can't provide any more technical help I'm afraid but if you're looking for a replacement my Parrot lives hidden away in the ashtray with a wireless control unit which usually lives in the armrest.

Well it's going to be wired into the speakers therefore the wire will go into the back of the CD player. You could take it all out or snip the wire and tuck it under as you suggest. Personally I wouldn't do the latter but if you cover the wire properly I can't see it causing any hazard.

RE the velcro, it shouldn't leave any mark or discoloured patch - the ski slope you have is metal IIRC therefore should pick off fine.

That doesn't help me. I've only got an axe and a sledgehammer.

I have got one of these too. I would recommend this, mine is really good.

It does look like a good solution if you want a Parrot, but I don't want one; and more immediately, I don't want the velcro one.

Pop the ski slope off and take a look where it goes. Best to unplug it.

As for sticky pads peel off and use wd40 on a cloth and remove pad residue.
