Good route wasnt it but um, could it have been any windier?!?!?!, at one point we were descending and actually slowing down due to the headwind! I was riding with SteveVRS and we met MadDad (dont you just love login names!) at the second feed station! At the moment we are well up the leaderboard on the longer strava segments which is nice.... Pretty sure we missed the gold finishing time by about 2 minutes...."virtual man" has a lot to answer for, bike is filthy but had a great day!
Great ride but bloody hell was it windy! Being of 'slight build' I was battered on some of the exposed roads, and blown across the road a couple of times when passing gaps in the hedge or farm gates!
Had the pleasure of bumping into Pablo and SteveVRS on the ride, top guys!
How did everyone do? I managed an overall of 5h 9mins after stopping to help a chap with a puncture, and taking 10 mins at the second feed station, moving time of 4h 49m

I'm ashamed to say that I changed from epic to standard on my way round. I'm glad I did as my legs we shot at the end as I haven't been out on the bike for a few weeks. That last km alongside the track I had to stand to stop myself being blown backwards.

I almost came off due to the wind on the last corner when you turn towards the last straight, chin on the stem and pedaled like a madman just to stand still!!Still on page one of the strava segment though!

We live in Wappenham and saw all the Wiggle signs go up yesterday. I've wanted to do a sportive since I got my road bike in April but never found the opportunity so today my younger son and I just went out and joined in. To be honest the route almost exactly follows our training route but we've never ridden it so fast and none stop! So if you saw my lad (10yrs old Team GB/Sky top on black/white bike) and a I (black/grey MTB baggies and a grey ruck sack on a black boardman) I hope we paused to be sociable and littlun didn't carve you up (we did have words on a couple of occasions about his ride etiquette ). We took about 2hrs 10mins to do 34.5miles Wappy round and back. Next year we'll do it properly! According to bike hike the route was about 54miles?

I dont have the full segment either, I'm assuming that neither my garmin or your phone picked up the start or finish of that particular segment but managed to get the rest, or maybe the unintended detour we took confused it? quite pleased with the final segment though, the 20kms from Sulgrave to the finish line which currently shows us around 42nd of 252... We seemed to go faster the minute you said "every revolution I take now is the furthest I have ever cycled in one go...."Wondering if I can't see the full segment as we took a slight wrong turn.

Yep, was a tough ride in that wind. Didn't spot any PH jerseys though (I was in my Cyclosport / Wattbike kit), I left the start at 8:18am, were you guys out before or after me? As for the route length, UKCE took their measurements from the circuit entrance, the additional 4 miles were the two miles of access roads
