Just realised that I seem to have broken protocol by crashing a couple of threads without introducing myself to the forum.

To correct that, I have been the (very) proud new owner of a 4.7 V8V for 6 weeks and have loved every minute. Coupe in California Sage with Parliament Green and Sandstorm interior.

I have taken the brave (? crazy) decision to remain a 2 car family, so between them my Vantage and road bike have to see me through the winter's commuting. If anyone thinks that is completely misguided please say so that I can go out and get a Mini to help out.

Thanks for the compliments. I was looking for Tungsten or Meteorite (which are understandably popular colours) but saw this and was smitten.

Any comments on use throughout winter? Does anybody get winter tyres?

Nice one Pete - great colour too.

Furthermore...it's great to see an interior without that girly £80 elbow rest yes

REAL men rest their elbow on a 6 inch nail biggrin

I knew I wouldn't get away with that photo without a hedge comment. The hedge is the least of my worries, there's a 1 foot wall at the bottom of the hedge yikes

Great looking car, please please don't drive it through the winter! I did with my first one and it's soul destroying. Now on my second (2011 meteorite black interior), but got my wife a mini with spare winter wheels and I now drive her 6 year old indestructible RAV 4. It doesn't mind the snow, grit, salt.........

Well done Pete. Love the colour combo. When I was looking for my first vantage, that was the colour I was looking for, but couldn't find it and was too impatient to wait for one to come up. Very happy to see pics of one being posted.

Not sure why some people don't use their cars all year round. I'm planning on using mine with winter tyres applied.

Go for it Hash - your car, matey.

I had a couple of issues with the power on icy roads and I appreciate that some saw the salt on the underside as quite damaging, unless of course you are prepared to clean it every time smile

Nice combo. You'll be fine in the winter for the vast amount anyway.

I did a fair bit of snow driving last year and the car coped ok. I shall not be repeating the trick this time out as it took me a while to get all the salt and st from under her.
