For various reasons (fekcing children) my GTA V disc is scratched to buggery and won't play - although it does try to load the game. I can borrow a disc from a mate, so (and I appreciate there may be performance issues) technically is it possible to install Disc 1 to 1 USB stick and Disc 2 to a second USB stick? Then run the game from USB (with the scratched disc inserted to "authenticate")???

TIA

Have you tried taking it into a game shop to get it cleaned? I knocked my console over with BF3 in and it was so scratched and unplayable. £1 later and it was as good as new, I think they buff off a layer.

Do what the guy above said. I wouldn't think your idea would work as The USB data rate would be nowhere near fast enough to play a game I wouldn't have thought

Definitely going to try and get it polished.

Reason for asking about USB is that it runs fine with the second disk installed to USB (I only have the smallest hard drive, at least that's what Mrs. Miniman clams hehe ) so wondered if it could cope with 2x USB.

The play disk has to be in the drive for checking. You cannot run solely from USB. The same goes for installing any other game to the hard drive.

Hi,

OP makes clear he'll be using the scratched disc to "authenticate"

James - I had exactly the same problem when "some strange, ghost like presence moved my console whilst the disc was spinning" - I installed to USB sticks X 2 and now use the scratched disc to "authenticate"

Give it a try, no harm, eh?

If it doesnt work, as said above try the game shops to get it re surfaced
