Just watched it myself I must agree that's a good car but how close is that to a Vantage

You may get a lot of banter with people that drive them.

Still a nice car and, as most people agree, it will take some sales off the Vantage range. This is why the new Vantage must be not only good but also launched in a timely manner.

The guys and gals on the Jaguar forum seem to be analysing the F type quite thoroughly.

Just don't think it's a patch on the Aston styling. It's one of those cars that I thought looked great in all the promo shots and then I saw one on the road and it just didn't look as good.

It looks as big as the DB9 in those pictures

Agree, the DB9 has a far more timeless look imho

I saw the F type a few months back at a Rugby Lunch in Brisbane (don't mention the Lions tour, or the bloody Ashes), thought it was an MX5 from a distance and up till about 20 yards away. Wouldn't want to spend 3 times the price of and MX5 on an F type and having it mistaken for a Mazda.

In OZ they start around half the price of and Aston (Cygnet excluded obviously). Here they are sold through the same dealer as Aston Martins. It will be interesting to hear if buyers are coming in wanting an Aston and driving away in the Jag instead. Sticker price shock may lead to a few doing this IMO.

The F type priced £58k to £78k.
It would have been more realistic to start from the magical £49950.
I have not driven one so cannot comment but styling is o.k. albeit not a knockout.
Does not compare to the revolutionary concept of the E type and Jaguar does itself no favours suggesting it does.
However these things are always subjective so I am not judging those that have one.
