997.1 S - Evo

Saw EVO describe the 997.1 S as a baby GT3 - that makes it sound like an interesting proposition?

Never heard any owner describe it as such ????

That description has been in the back of their mag for years - I don't have the GT3 experience to properly compare, but the 997.1 S is an awesome car!

I remember that tag, something like Con's - tech fest and Pro's - a baby GT3.

Had both and whilst the 7.1 C2S is a good car, it is not very comparable to the 7.1 GT3 in terms of the driving experience IMHO, more akin to the new 981's?

Used to have a 997.1 C2S and got out of that and into my current 997.1 GT3 - they're worlds apart.

Calling a C2S a baby GT3 is a very odd thing to say if you know both cars well.

If you don't, then yes, a C2S could be viewed similar to a GT3 in the same way a Fiat 500 twinair could be viewed as a baby Abarth 500...

Really though, it's the kind of statement I'd expect to read in the Telegraph motoring section, not Evo! A Cayman R, now that I could understand someone referring to as a baby GT3.

The baby GT3 comment was made in 2004 when the 997 C2S launched. Obviously, the latest GT3 then for comparison purposes was the 996....
