Is anyone out there still running the silver 3 r wheels with the shiney rims on there car don't think there were many originally out there ?

I am... but they're in dire need of a refurb so will probably just go all silver.

The laquer doesn't seem very durable, and I wouldn't clean them enough to keep them nice!

Maybe I'll go halfway of winter and strip / refinish / 2k laquer the offensive bits.

Yes, mine are still perfect. They were like that when I bought the car. No evidence of a refurb throughout the car's life according to the history that came with the car. However no way of knowing. I now have separate rims for track use.

I think the OP is talking about the standard 3R wheels, they have polished dishes, some are still shiny

Your not wrong any 3 r wheel can be made to like like that But a xpensive exercise to go through hence you don't see many wheels in this finish
