Cadwell 1st Dec Javelin

First time out in my new (to me) MX-5.

Anyone else going?

I'm not going but it was my first time as Cadwell at the beginning of October and thoroughly enjoyed it. If it has been raining take care at the end of the track where you join from the paddock as it gets very greasy and a few cars hit the armco there.

The entrance to the mountain is always the same this time of year.

Every day there I have ever done in Autumn/Winter has someone reversing into the armco there in the first few laps, and that is in spite of repeated warnings at the briefing.

The comment was based on Simon182's reply above. Not to say that you would fall into that category.

Slippy.

I've been there before now and had to wait while they used gas burners to melt the ice down the start finish straight...should be fun.

It was a bit slippy out there yesterday! The top of the track, in the sun, really didn't want to dry out.

Yeah it was massively slippy. My rear tyres are a bit low on tread, so i spent most of the time trying to get traction out of old hall, barn, charlies and mansfield.

It was far too busy for my liking. Lots of queuing.

My Mazda was faultless, but lacking in power to get past the numerous people who REFUSED TO PULL OVER!!

Also there were too many red flags.

I gave up at about 12:30 and drove home.

It's a shame you gave up at lunchtime, the situation did get better during the afternoon session. The track was quite a challenge with varying levels of grip in different parts, and apart from a few nobs with poor track etiquette, I thought the day was worth the 4 hour drive home.

I had a lot of fun although it was a little busy at times and one or two could have moved over a little sooner, but other than that it was a good day.

That was me in the MX-5 at about 9:20. Twitchy as hell!
