Off to the Isle of Purbeck on Friday. Be generally pootling around, despite its "Shell-free" status apart from Bere Regis

Just thinking aloud really about which roads I shouldn't miss - like the B3351 and the B3069... and the roads over the ranges...

Anyway, bearing in mind that the place will be mercifully grockle-free, where shall I book for a Sunday Lunch (thus taking in a few extra roads...)?

You could do a lot worse than The Sailors Retreat at Chaldon Herring / East Chaldon on the road towards Lulworth absolutely delightful thatched country pub that offers great food and drink.

I have little to add other than the Shell at Bere Regis has, for some unknown reason, what could be the world's largest collection of Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson tapes and CDs for sale.

I believe the ferry is undergoing a major re-fit for two to three weeks but should be back on line by around the 29th of November.

The road from Wareham ---> towards Arne ---> slot right ---> Corfe Castle is pretty good

Then Corfe Castle, B3351 ---> past the golf course ---> slot hairpin right at the end of Nine Barrow Down ---> Ulwell ---> Swanage

The yellow from Ulwell back to Corfe Castle is a fantastic piece of road, but only at night!

Then obviously Corfe Castle ---> Church Knowle ---> Steeple ---> Over the ranges (again, better at night!) ---> East Lulworth ---> take the yellow to Coombe Keynes ---> Wool

Sounds like my typical Friday night!

Shell at Bere Regis is shut for a refit - any other super unleaded suppliers?
