problem with my VIN

Hi there,

i live in Germany an am trying to get my new wedge which i bought in Sweden registered here.

Now i contacted our authorities to get some information about the car which i need to get it on the road here. The problem is, my VIN.

My VIN is Tv9rf28pxfbdh1069 (at least thats what it says behind the window). And they can't find any information about tha kind of VIN.

Do you have any help?

Build number, chassis number. That basically is your VIN.

Try contacting Richard Sails who is the club archivist he may be able to help you. [e-mail] (Be aware he's working away in Australia at the moment so it may take him a while to get back to you.)

The chassis number should actually be stamped on the chassis somewhere. Usually around the front.

In my swedish papers it says on the left side in the front, but i can't find it.
Is there any place they usually used?

Usually inscribed on an alloy plate riveted to the inner wing (N/S on mine) in the engine bay. Several inches square, with paint code, engine number and lubrication info.

the silver plate in the picture is what you need to look at its on the left hand inner wing hope this helps

I've also heard that the number is stamped onto the chassis somewhere but I've never seen it.

I think he's looking for the actual chassis number not just the ID plate. I think it tells you in the bible where it is. I'll look it out later for you.

On both my '86 350 and SEAC the chassis number is stamped here; it's very faint in both cases but it is there!

It's stamped onto the chassis on the engine bay side of the O/S (RHD) suspension upright, just below the alternator on Adam's picture above.

As the photo above, my 1982 2.8 has the chassis number there too. It looks like TVR stamped the number before putting the plastic coating/paint on, so it's hard to see.
