He used to be good I think. His first couple of albums sounded like he had something to say, now he sounds as if he's producing music because he has to. They are 'pop' music and have lost the raw-ness and meaning his records once had.
I'll stick to things like the Slim Shady, the Eminem Show etc.

When he was on/off/on drugs I think his albums were pretty poor with the silly voices, etc., but his last one (Recovery) is up there with his best, even if the tracks are a bit more polished and produced than the early albums.
Looking forward to the new one, somehow I haven't heard anything from it - guess it's a downside to switching to Radio 2!

Same here.
My favourite track is So Far. I love it.
So Far is pretty good, I have to say. The whole album is pretty great. I think most would agree it's not quite his prime, but what a return to form!My favourite track is So Far. I love it.
My favourite is Headlights. I know it's a bit 'poppy', but it's quite addictive.
Well done, Eminem. Just wish I'd bought those tickets to see you live at Reading Festival now!

If you mean back in 2001, I was there, he was really good. (Not helping am I?)My favourite is Headlights. I know it's a bit 'poppy', but it's quite addictive.

I know this is a bit of praise thread but I'm firmly in the bored stiff by Eminem camp. There are a few moments here and there where I think the guy still has it but for the most part his output is mehhhh.
He is however technically amazing as a rapper.
I think the last two albums have been quite 'meh', but this last one is a return to form (almost). He is however technically amazing as a rapper.
Some of it, we must remember, is progression - for ourselves, for the artist, for the new audience.

I get the progression thing. I wouldn't want the same album every year. I was sent Rap God and a few others. Rap God was amazing flow wise but didn't have that "did he just say that where's the rewind button" feel to it.
