Anyone here work for Citi at Canary Wharf? Do they have their own gym or can anyone recommend a gym in the area. I have a potential contract there and a gym access is pretty important to me at the moment.

Just spoke to one of the guys I know over he said there is one onsite.
"Gym-goers have the option of working out at the firm's subsidised on-site fitness club, at a cost of £35 a month"
He did say it gets extremely busy though.

yikes

I have never paid more than £40 for gym membership. I admit I have never been a member of a CoL gym either but fk me. What on earth do you get for £112/month. I would expect a dedicated personal trainer for that. Young, blond, body to die for, and favors wearing very little. Wibble.

There is a gym on the ground floor, by the rear entrance. It's pretty good but used to get very busy. I used to be in there for half six every morning and was often the first one in. Leaving at eight/ half past and it was rammed.
Plenty of bikes, x-trainers, free weighs, about 6 benches, and a spinning room.

Thought there was still a waiting list to actually join up as a memeber too.

Was last time I worked at Citi, it was something like 6 months.

Can contact a friend who is still working there.

Even cheaper is the gym/pool at the International Hotel on Marsh Wall, just over the foot bridge. IIRC it was about £25 p/m with no joining or cancellation fees. Just show them ID for where you work.

Its's a seriously plush place - climbing wall yadda yadda.

Basically like a five star hotel.

And it's jam packed with fanbelt.

When I used to go, there was a lovely little thing that was always there at the same time. Daily smiles and a few busted looks in the mirror was about it...cracking body and very pretty.

She was alright too.

This isn't the case anymore, zero waiting list since they refurb'd the gym around 18months ago.

I'm a contractor here at Citi, have been for the last 3.5 years. I also gym every day and it's a pretty decent gym now. The classes are good (if that's your thing), there's a dedicated spin room and a fairly good weights area.

If you are more into weights and want DB's that go above 40kg, you are better off going over to Reebok.

Changing facilities are good, just try to avoid lunchtimes and around 5-6pm as it does get busy. Any other times in there is quiet.

The biggest DB's when I were there were 34kgs. Obviously, I used to throw them around like they were nothing, so maybe that's why they got a few more in.
Is my little hottie still there (see above)?
