Noble in snow???
Discussion
I am considering a Noble M400 as my new car and certainly going to use it as a daily driver... at least in summer
the thing is that i live in Moscow....
So i was woundering how it will handle winter with -15C and a couple of inches of snow? (obviously, when fitted with good winter tyres)
Cheers

Also how good is Noble crash-wise?
See here for an opinion on crashes.

As for starting in -15C, nobody knows if the improvments made to the engine performance will affect it's cold starting ability, but the standard engine come straight from a Jaguar and I've never heard anything about cold starting problems. Martin.

If you are really that interested - give them a ring
and they will tell me "no, noble is crap, dont buy it!"![]()
i tend to think that dealers will be a bit biased in thier opinion... they might not tell you lies, but they wont tell the full story either.
Valery, what are you saying here - that the Moscow based Noble dealer will tell you that Noble is "crap and don't buy one"?! ;-(

I think he is being sacastic - I.e. the Dealer will tell hime it's absolutly fine in the snow etc.
Aha, thanks! On re-reading it I see now - I thought for a minute that there was a new way of selling to Russian billionaires - a "slag-it-off-and-they'll-all-want-one" approach! :-)
You probably don't need to ask us what they are like in the snow, just look at the weight, the section of the rear tyres, the torque, the lack of traction control and draw your own conclusion. Its likely to be slower than most hatchbacks on snow imho!
If Russian weather is really as portrayed, I don't doubt for a moment that as an everyday proposition something like an Evo or 996 turbo will be a more sensible option. Nobles are great cars so if you want that RWD 'no driving aids' thing then you'll love it, in the right hands they are incredibly quick, but don't kid yourself about the reality of driving one in the snow!
Latyshev,
The M12 GTO-3R was featured in the May '04 issue of Car magazine, in which a journalist drove the Noble around Moscow to mark the opening of our dealership there (see Joust's post). However, the car was fitted with snow tyres: the standard road tyres we fit perform poorly (v.poorly!) on packed snow or ice.

Sounds reasonable...people have been slagging off TVR for years and a Russian bought the company!
