CoD Ghosts Digital enhanced version on sale for £94...for a PC game!

For the privilege of shelling out just under £100 you get 4 DLC packs, some in-game stickers and an addiitonal multiplayer map.

Now I have no interest in buying this game as my interest ran out after Modern Warfare on the xbox but that's a pretty outrageous price point IMO and I'm struggling to understand the justification, I really hope that people don't buy into it and discourage this greed before it gets even more ludicrous.

Why even buy another COD game when they are all the same since COD 4 effectively. To me the game is just a clunky CQ shoebox battle for console kiddies wanting to XxX_Leg1tQuik5C0P3x_X hehe Medal of honor did itself no favours by jumping into bed with this setup and it killed the series off for me.

OT;
BF fanboy here and although BF4 looks superb, it's more or less just a big expansion pack for bf3. Still waiting for a follow up to 2142

It's not too bad to be fair, COD games rarely have any decent discounts on them even in the world of cheap pc games.

I wouldn't entertain purchasing it but I could see why some would

Sounds like a lot, but what you're getting there is the standard game for about £60, plus £35 for the Season Pass which gives you all the DLC for the year.

I think 'next gen' games are all going to be about the £60 mark, and all DLC has been about £35 if you paid the year up in advance.

So actually, it IS expensive, but it's not way out of line with expectation unfortunately.

About £5-600 probably.
£60 for a game is insane.

I don't think £60 is insane these days for a game. Considering the amount of entertainment one would get from a quality game, and the amount of hours people will put into it, I don't think it's too bad.

Both CoD and Bf4 are really taking the mickey on pricing and dlc expansion nonsense.

The PC game doesn't cost £60, you can buy it for £34.97 on Amazon

Yes but the games are cheaper, have better graphics and you can mod them.

Not true, the publishers of these types of games just sprew out the next release with minimal effort, the engine is pretty much the same just tweaked and reskinned, how else do you think they chuck out the next game in such a short space of time.

Plus the developer sees a very very small slice of that pie. Its why indie games seem to be taking off and are able to produce stuff that looks a 10000x better than the likes of EA can make as they can allocate more funds to the actual product. I can also see crowd funding becoming bigger and bigger too.

Well the words I use are not just my words but those of people who have been in the game for a long time and broke away from the large publishers. Theres are reason why new studios keep popping up made up by people who started franchises such as BF or COD, why not just stop making those games and do something else? Oh thats right the publisher owns the rights so you cant.

For an indie game and budget this is shaping up to be a winner and a good example of what a bit of crowd funding can achieve

Top games now cost as much as a popular film these days. I think MW2 cost $200 million, but they usually make that back in the first week IF it's popular enough.

I totally agree with the above. A few years ago, where most of my money was pissed up the wall on going out getting drunk twice a week, I would see buying a computer game as a way of saving money. Considering I would often spend £40 a night easily, spending £40 or indeed £60 on a computer game that will give me 100 hours + of game play is INSANE value! Okay, so I think £60 on some of these games that come out that you can complete in less than 10 hours then have no reason to play again is expensive, but online multiplayer games that have a lot of re-playability, I honestly thing you are getting a lot for your money, especially when you compare it to other things such as a football match or film. Hell, even a DVD for £10, that lasts 2 hours, you're only going to ever watch it half a dozen times max! Computer games represent insane value for money in comparison, and if I have to spend £60 a go then I am totally fine with that, as long as they keep churning out decent games!

You guys have it spot on in my opinion, I buy two games a year on average and these keep me gaming all year. I can spend that £80-90 in an evening on the piss or a meal in a couple of hours. If GTA was £100 I still wouldn't think it was overpriced considering I'll still be playing it in 2 years time probably.

This. People spend £40 on a night out getting drunk without batting an eyelid yet see spending that amount on a game that will give you a few weeks of entertainment as outrageous.

It's quite interesting really...

On my PC at home I've various emulators and collections of games.

So for example, I've a SNES emulator and all the games I could ever want, and remember being in a position where £30 was expensive and if only I could afford them.

No I could play all the games I ever wanted 15 years ago, and even emulate a wii and PS2.

However I still find myself looking at the PS4/Xbone (never owned a 3 or 360) and thinking I might get one....

Why....?

And why will people pay £100 for a game...?

ADVERTISING

We'll all be told we want one, therefore many of us will!

(Not me, I'm a tight git and stick to playing retro roms)
