Yes it goes into the side of the gearbox. Unfortunately it's a bit of a TVR special. It may be easier to get your old one repaired - Speedy Cables here in the UK can repair or make a new one if you send them the old one.
Yup it connects to the box. i got a replacement from speedycables. Send them the broken one (with both ends) and theyll copy it. I understand the TVR fitting is different at the speedo end which makes getting one of the shelf a bit difficult. Marcus
