What car was this?

Just watching Poirot in which there was a large veteran saloon car rather like an early 30's Bentley but obviously not a Bentley. Been racking my brains but I don't know what this is; Lanchester perhaps?

Amazing, my wife said it looked like a Talbot! Now I know it's not a Talbot bit they did merge with Sunbeam and come on, how many blokes wives would even know what a bloody Talbot is let alone recognise some resemblance with a '30s Sunbeam.

Indeed it would seem to be but my research suggests the plate is from a Sunbeam Motorcycle. Curiouser and curiouser said Alice? It certainly has the looks of a Sunbeam of that period.

Oh I meant to add ,my missus wouldn't even know there was a car called a Talbot.
