Really very interested in this, perhaps it's time to sell the 911 and get into some real Motorsport!

Costs are in the slideshow of images on the pages the OP linked to.Rough summary;
- new, fully prepped car £50k + VAT
- entry for season £10k or £14k for amatuers to include race training, licence etc.
- service package for season (unless you want to do own spannering) £15k
Driving a 90 with its 93inch wheel base at speed can be quite entertaining on a dry road ....on a rally stage ...even more so ...but in the desert --- gulp ! My experience would side on the 110 wheelbase for stability.
However no doubt it will be a good laugh ....could be a good time to start buying 90 roofs and side panels on ebay - as with up to 15 cars - they will be in short supply by mid summer and demand a premium!

I can't say this series is (not for me at least) particualrly 'affordable' if - even by the process of man maths - any seriously competitive motorsport ever is, but I really like the idea.
I find it very curious that Bowler and LR are 'investing' in the Defender in this way, so close to what we're being told is the end of its porduction.

Definitely not stuck! The car was being driven by Richard Hayward, he was doing about 30mph at that point!
Richard finished 21st overall out of 38 starters and 29 Finishers. Full Results Here They may look a little odd as the results are split into National A and B.
All my photos of the event can be seen at www.fotoring.co.uk
