Hi folks,

I was watching one of those crash, bang accident videos on Youtube recently. The title suggested that all survived. One series of photos that appeared led me to question this, so I have come to where I always go when I need to know something, PH thumbup

The photos are of what looks like the start of an single seater race, maybe indy car, but on a circuit rather than an oval. I did wonder why it had appeared in the video until I looked up at the gantry, where there was a car. It must have been a good 30-40 feet high and going straight for the middle of the gantry. In the next photo the car had disappeared frown

I am guessing that the driver did not survive at all. I realise this is a rather morbid request but my curiosity has taken over. So, what happened, what's the story and did he survive?

Sounds like Takashi Yokoyama at Fuji in 1997. I think it was an F3 race. There isnt much info that can find but I understand that he was killed instantly

Then there is no need to post said video. Tragic.

Glad you got an answer though!
