About a month ago I had a lot new wiring done behind the dash of my car too the drivers due, due to damage. I was told the car could potentially go up at any time.

Well since this work has been done the car has not been keeping charge. The battery is completey dead within a week, I mean no power at all! I have no idea on electrics at all,
Any suggestions on the possible issue?!!

Thank you gents

Do you have a multimeter to test things ?

Check everything electrical to make sure it all works, anything that doesn't work should be your first point to check, if it's all working then ...

1) check if alternator is charging the battery when running

2) check load on the battery when switched off

3) pull 1 fuse at a time & check load see if load decreases a lot with the fuse out, if so check what this fuse protects and investigate these circuits for dodgy connections/shorts etc. Repeat for all fuses which should identify the circuit causing the drain.

Hope this helps ...

I have no idea in truth! What difference would this make? Another thing I have noticed is my oil pressure gauge is not working correctly and is reads from one extreme to the other!

If they are std ones without the diode they will fully drain the battery in about 1 week. Worth a check?
