Anybody on here ordered one yet? I've been playing on the configurator, only if Molly's not looking. I reckon this new car is Aston Martin's best hope of attracting new customers to the brand. It is vital that they get their marketing right. I also believe that for a lot of current V12V owners the jump to the S will not stack up financially for the simple reason that the gains over their current car are not significant enough. I am not saying that the S is not an awesome car, it plainly is. It's just that the V12 Vantage is not that far behind plus it can be tweaked to produce similar power.
Would the wise man hang on a while because new more powerful, lighter and cleaner engines must be just around the corner .

I inquired, sales guy called me, tried to arrange a test drive, no cars available, said he would call me back...............nothing.
In the meantime, spoke with Porsche, day at Silverstone arranged, call from dealer for a chat, drove the 911 Turbo S, track was flooded so we had to use local roads, call from dealer for a chat, call from Silverstone due to flooded track would I like to come back for another go, session booked, call from dealer for a chat.
I have no doubt the V12S is going to be a great car, just not sure my money will be in one.

I know 2 people that have
They have posted on here that they have and I have emailed 1 of them, although he spends much time offshore
I must admit I found that early on with AM dealers not being as pro-active as I would be in my business. Sounds like Porsche are very pro-active and likely to prize you away. Shame really as you need to drive one before making that all important decision. The Porsche is a great car and dynamically a better car no doubt, but it won't stir your soul like an AM.

it came joint secondin autocars best drivers car, alongside the ferrari f12 ,losing out (comprehensively it must be said) to the gt3 ,but they reckon it was the best drivers car test they had done and the cayman s finished nowhere and they reckon it would have won in previous years,so a very very high standard .
Its really tempting except for the gearbox.

I was interested after I sold my 599 and so enquired when the announcement became public. Initially told that if I put a deposit down there and then I could have one in the new year - or if I waited until after a test drive, it'd be Oct 14!
Once I saw the press release images I decided that the design hasn't moved on significantly enough for me since the original V8 Vantage. It's been tweaked but nothing really new - and having had 2 x V8's I moved on......
For me, if Aston had revamped the interior - a la Vanquish, and got a DSG type gearbox it would have been a serious contender. They need to pull their socks up and get a new generation of cars, and I for one would be back as an AM customer. For the time being, I'll just enjoy my 458!

I love the little tweaks to the new V12VS but I just couldnt bring myself to buy a car with that auto transmission. It would have to be manual (which is why I am considering changing up to the V12V next year) or they need to get a proper auto box up to other makes (Ferrari, Lambo, Merc etc..) standards for me to consider it.

It is not an auto transmission, it is an automated manual system. Single clutch as opposed to the dual clutch system of many other makes, so the only difference are paddles instead of a gear lever and obviously no clutch. The V12V is a good choice though

Yes, I know it's not a full auto, still don't like it though and wouldn't by the S because of it
Proper manual (hence me having the V8V now and considering the V12V) or a proper up to date automatic system.I took a test drive and was impressed with everything apart from the glacial gear change. Test drive guy kept banging on about how fast it was but I'm sure I can shift faster in my manual car.
I really really fancied one as I talked it through afterwards with the guys in the garage but then when I got back in my own car I forgot all about it. The cars definitely lost its edge in V12S form, it just wasn't as interesting to drive despite feeling far more competent.
The guy from AM never called me back afterwards either, he definitely had a very laid back attitude to sales!
