To be the yin to the yang of the other negative thread, who are your favourite commentators in motorsport? Past or current or fantasy pairs...

Current:

Parish and Cox - excellent knowledge and entertaining style.

Ant Davidson

Karun Chandrok

Gary Anderson

I really enjoy the sessions with the above chaps in, their technical knowledge is unsurpassed. Shame they don't get to do more in the actual races.

I like Jack and Jamie, but Jamie Whithams voice and accent grates on me a lot as does his obsession with any rider coming withing 20 miles of Bratfut.

I've enjoyed David Addison's BTCC commentary this season. Clear, concise, knowledgable and with a sense of humour. Could probably do without Harvey and O'Niell on that program though. Nothing against them, just don't think they're cut out for the job.

Knocked into a cocked hat by Moody & Co at Eurosport

Far more knowledge, especially from Neil Spalding, and less sof the 'shot the fox' nonsense

David Addison was very good doing BTCC this year, but my favourite coms team is Moody, Ryder and Spalders smile

Moody was rubbish when he did the BTCC, constantly confusing cars with totally different liveries. It was embarrassing.

I loved the days when Titchmarsh commentated from the media centre at Donington with Addison in the spark plug at the Old Hairpin. Top combo.

Pye is incredibly knowledgable. Hope-Frost has a nice manner too.

Marcus Pye , Simon Taylor, Ian Titchmarsh and the lovely old boy who does (or used to anyway ) VSCC commentary- he would ramble on for ages about the provenance of some Austin Seven special or Lagonda and would only occasionally refer to the race itself. Brundle is superb too in the F1 arena

No idea who most of those people are (wrong country probably), but I do enjoy the V8 supertaxi commentary team. smile

Totally agree with you and I'd add Alan Hyde in the pits. Really good team of commentators.

Absolutely.

When my dad first took me to see the WSPC at Silverstone in the mid '80s it was always Titchmarsh as the main commentator, ably supported by Paul Trusswell. Great days.

Young Addison is the best trackside commentator these days and has made a very good transition to TV (although I'll admit to not really watching BTCC).

Not forgetting the brilliant Hindy for anything long distance, Burnicle/Whitham for the sheer hilarity of their Northern humour doing Superbikes and, of course, Moody/Ryder.

I will also nominate the guy who does the commentary at York Raceway (dragstrip ). Well informed and extremely funny. Top man .
