Speed Sometimes
Discussion
Had the Tuscan 5 months, No probs (fingers still crossed)
On two occasions in the last week the speedo (Digital and Dial have registered ZERO) when driving.
THEN, as if by magic it starts working again.
The strange thing is, it stops working in passing through the same village on my way home.
weird! It then stats working again later in the journey or the next time I get get the car out.
Any ideas?

Nick,
mine started off like that as well. Now it goes up to 330kph from time to time as well!
Have heard it's something to do with the lambada on its diff
Get it replaced if you have the chance. Will get mine fixed sometime before the MOT, for which it will probably fail anyway due to the loss of a line of digital display that provides KPH....)

I have had something similar to this happen, and had it fixed.
My understanding:
Reason 1:
If both the digital display and mechanical speedo (the hand..) both go to zero - it's an issue with the pod. See dealer & they may send the pod back to TVR.
I think that this is your situation. Don't know why it's on / off though?
Reason 2:
If it is just the mechanical hand speedo it is because the sensor at the back of the car is dirty / moved too far / too near to another sensor on the rear axle / diff (?)
It is a quick and simple 'fix' at the dealer (clean and adjust). They will probably do it for free. Although this could obviously happen again... as the sensor is not protected from the elements / grime from the road.
This is what I had fixed.

Thanks
Its not a major problem, only happen twice. The dealer is in Harrogate 70 miles away, so I will probably put up with it until next service etc. (given the number of miles I am putting on the car, it won't be long)
At least is isn't serious.
about the Village, Its not Royston Vasy - but there are some very LOCAL people
(some of them look like sheep ! )Can't think why!!

Mine is currently doing a similar thing as well, 200mph when moving off from the lights and then 0mph when going down the motorway. It has been diagnosed as the Transducer but I haven't been able to get hold of one for love nor money. Apparently TVR are designing a new one at the moment and the old style aren't available either.
It isn't causing me any problems in terms of performance but if I was you I'd get one ordered (if it is the transducer in your case) and then at least (fingers crossed) the part should be in by the time it needs servicing. I've been waiting for 2 months now....
