So just how long did it take?

Been thinking about getting one as may have an oil stat fitted as part of an engine refresh project over the winter.

Another little job todo over winter along with getting a speed six type oil cooler installed.

I had one made by speedy cables but thankfully didn't take that long to come. No wonder you forgot.

What sort of oil temps are people seeing on their gauges?
Does fitting a stat stabilise oil temperatures?
The only way I can tell that my oil is up to temperature is via the pressure gauge.

I was told by an Indie that the oil in a V8 dosen't run that hot, he was pointing this out because mine has two oil coolers.

When we all ordered a Group Buy Speedy were very good.

I think I remember fubar saying that he only got mid-fifties (but that could have been his waistline hehe).
I'm still delaying on finding a good place to fit the sensor banghead

I've got one sitting in a box. Not got round to fitting it. Tbh not sure I'll bother. Simply don't rev over 2.5 k for first 5 or 10 mins. Then about 3k limit for another 5 or 10 mins. Then after about 5 miles or so the oil pressure at idle is about 40 psi and so I then reckon it can take some revs. Reckon if I had an oil temp gauge that I would still use oil pressure as my primary measure.

I have the sensor fitted to the oil filter via a sandwich plate. I fitted it due to fitting an oil stat.

Helps with faster warm ups as the oil isn't going through the oil cooler.

Also see temps around the 50-60,

Although given the oil stat is 80-85 degree I think in reality the oil cooler isn't being used most of the time

On spirited driving in have seen warmer temps but the scale of the gauge isn't the best
