Hi guys, I need to do a job on my motorbike and I was told I used to use Blue Loctite on two bolts and red on the main bolt.

How do I know I am buying the right one? I am looking on the website/ebay etc but they all have numbers so how do I know which one?

Would the blue be Medium and the red be high strength?

Do you want to undo the fastener ever again?

Yes blue is medium and red is high. You can either get it as liquid or a stick. The numbers for the sticks are 248 for blue and 268 for red. Don't know the numbers for the liquids as we don't use them.

The blue liquid is 243 and I think the red liquid is 262.

648 is roughly equivalent to welding...

Is it as strong as that? I always thought it was snake oil. Our boss at a place I used to work at made us use the blue stuff on bolts, and we sometimes took the bolts out a couple of days later no problem. I thought it just basically worked like a nylon locking nut rather than being properly sticky.

648 is for setting studs, rather than nuts on bolts.

But it often requires heat to release it's grip on larger threads.
