ignition lights and temperature gauge

both not working...everything else is fine.
just put it back together again after a cam change.
it starts and runs fine but no ignition lights and no temperature gauge !!!!
the wire is fitted to the sender ok.
what have i missed??

i did short the starter when i removed the exhaust (with a spanner)
As i said, everything else works fine.
the gauge and ignition lights worked ok before i started the cam change.
any ideas gratefully received...as this is doing my head in !

When you say ignition lights, please say exactly what lighs and what colour.
