Hi!

Due a change of car in the next month or so and am looking most likely at some sort of hot saloon....

Previously owned loads of cars, mainly BMWs, and including E92 m3, a stint inan f10 m5, just sold my Nissan GTR...

I'm looking for a true ph style synopsis of the xfr....what are they like to live with?

Do they have a wow factor?

Any commons faults etc?

Is depreciation going to be a major disaster?....I'm looking at cars around the lower end of the price spectrum, say around £22k

Thanks for sharing your experience!

There's quite a few forum members who have bought new this year, but also a few older ones around. I may be changing my XF-S for one in a few months. Deals on new ones are phenomenal.

I went to my local dealer, Hartwell Bristol, to test drive a used XFR last year. Cracking car but the one they had in had been treated a bit carelessly inside (which I'm fussy about) so it wasn't the car for me. While I was there I noticed they had a used XJ Supersport in stock. Always thought they were far too big but thought I'd ask to have a look anyway. Opened the door, was fairly smitten, took it for a drive, oh dear oh dear oh dear. Not exactly the hardest sale the chap had ever made!

They are too long, but everything else is just absolutely spot on, they handle amazingly for such a big car, and they're no heavier than the XF due to the aluminium construction. Beautiful cabin, incredible hi-fi, and a real sense of occasion.

Worth adding to your possibles list...

Edited to say that having read the OP again the Supercharged ones may still be a tad over budget, but don't discount the diesel ones.

XF is a tad dated inside, XJ is lush!

Sorry to hijack, but do you know if there are deals to be had on the xkr too? Any details?

More so!

Expect £25k off an XKR-S and about £20k off regular XKR's etc.

Oh yes.

Look on http://www.drivethedeal.com.

I've not done an XKR on there, but heard of £25k discounts. You get the Jag finance deal of 4.9% apr too.

You're going to have to chat to a dealer who can put your usage into their calculator to work out what the finance will be based on for it's GFV.
