Hi all,

Just putting the feelers out there regarding building a BMW rally mini and wondered if anyone could help me on a few of the questions.

1. How difficult is it to get 280bhp? What figure is easily achievable by bolt on mods?
2. I would like to use bigger diameter pistons to increase the cc. Do any companies make them?
3. How good is the standard clutch and drivetrain? What power/torque can the clutch reliably handle?
4. What's achievable in lightening the car in Kg's?

I rally a classic mini running a Vauxhall 2ltr redtop. I'm looking to progress so need to know if it's a step in the right direction.

I have a few other questions but they are the basic one I'm after answers to. Power to weight ratio for now.

cheers
Justin

What gen/age are yopu after? 280 is not hard just down to money.
2. I would like to use bigger diameter pistons to increase the cc. Do any companies make them? In the supper charged cars the block is from a neon etc so larger cc same type engines are avalible but a lot of work with little in power gain.
3. How good is the standard clutch and drivetrain? What power/torque can the clutch reliably handle? Clutch and drivetrain ok but rally is a diffrent thing. I understand upgrade parts are avalible. Clutch at least would need replacing.
4. What's achievable in lightening the car in Kg's? Hard to say What are you allowed to remove, glass seats lighter wheels???
