Slight grinding noise if left input applied
Discussion
... to steering wheel.
Not mine but a friend's Focus. After the recent storm he drove over a branch in the road that hit his driver's front wheel on the inside. This seems to have nudged the plate behind the wheel that stops crap getting in there and as a result there's a very tinny grinding noise when he turns left. If he straightens the steering it goes away.
He's taking it to get sorted at the weekend but until then there's this noise which he says is embarrassing more than anything. I've suggested trying to push the plate out from the outside of the wheel, (if you see what I mean), and he says that's made it better but it still grinds. Is there anything else he can try? He can't get under the car as his mobility is limited.
Cheers.
