And what makes it worse was the tt was me :-(

Asked to pick up GF's mum from a supermarket. It was a filthy night and a shop I had never visited before. It was dark and raining so hard the road surface was reduced to a frothy puddle. Add to this the fact I was eyes on the front door looking for GF's mum. I passed a parked up people carrier and SUV then a "Pick Up Point" blue round sign, pulled in and stopped.

My passenger was standing in the front porch of the shop talking to a friend. I left my car at the pick-up point, interrupted her conversation saying "I'm badly parked we need to be quick" then hurried back to my car. I wasn't half badly park. From outside I realised the "Pick Up Point" was in fact before the roundel. The SUV and people carrier were actually picking up in the allotted lay-by and were now off. My car was parked in a disabled bay. Can this get worse? My car was parked in a disabled bay, parallel to the shop and sitting across three disabled spaces. The only thing that could have made me look and worse was if I had done this in a white Audi A4 S-Line. Realising the error of my ways I broke all records loading prospective mother-in-law and her shopping into my car. Old farts do not like when those around them (figuratively speaking) drop two gears and floor it without warning.

No doubt everyone at the supermarket who saw this thinks I'm a tt. My girlfriend's mum thinks I'm a rude impatient tt and as she phoned my GF to complain my GF thinks I'm a tt.

Can so many people be wrong or could it be that I am what I am?

When you "loaded" the old girl into your car what were you holding on to?

So MIL not going to ask for a lift again?

Sounds worth it to me.

Give her the number for a taxi. Then she can pay for their time rather than sponge off yours.

The disabled spaces thing is by the by. They were empty, it was bad weather, pitch black, and your intention was to pull up for 5 seconds while someone gets in your car. Not your fault if she was dithering around like you had all the time in the world/enjoyed getting soaked.

I'm sure someone who once met a disabled person will be along shortly threatening to end your livelihood because of your selfish behaviour.

Seriously, it was a mistake, no biggy, no children or kittens were maimed. Also it's one of the funnier things I've read today smile

I wouldn't worry about it. I'd consider boasting on an internet forum about how many times you've run from the police much more tttish.

Should have just played it cool, got out of the car and pretend to look in your boot so you can walk with a pretend limp, on lookers will think you are disabled and feel sorry for you and you can wait patiently for your girlfriend to return.

So you did the MIL in a favour and because of a bit of bad parking (which was a complete accident) she rings the GF to complain? Next time make the bh walk.

At what point in the story did you decide to make a thread about it?

Non-story IMO.

When I read the title I thought oh hello, might be an interesting one this.

Disappointment ensued.

Sorry about that. Maybe because it was my bad it looked worse than it was but, to me, seeing my car stretched across three disabled spaces, I thought it looked atrocious. Had I done it deliberately, my large black German car was a bit newer and had it been witnessed by another PH forum member maybe it would have been a more vitriolic and entertaining thread would have ensued.

No doubt you will be reminded of what a selfish arse you are at semi-regular intervals by both mother and daughter.

It will be your fault.

Just accept it. Accept your pointless existence and don't even bother trying to fight it.
