Would I regret buying an 1100D?

A liitle bit of background...

I have been using a Powershot SX120 and occasionally a borrowed DSLR (300D) over a number of years. Therefore I have basic grounding in the various settings and modes available on a DSLR. I would like to purchase my own DSLR but would an 1100D be suitable? I suppose I'm asking whether a 650D or 700D is worth paying the premium for a relative newbie like myself or if I would "outgrow" it too soon.

Can you not get a 100d instead? 1100d is not bad but the 100d is better.

If it was me I would go a bit higher up the range - maybe even second hand ?

For the price of a new 1100D, you could have my used 50D. PM me if interested.

Note that it only does 720p video.
Plus you can get a D5100 for £329 these days

Thanks for the advice. Now looking at the 100D and it looks quite decent. My only concern is the size and whether it'd be too small as I have quite large hands. I'll probably need to get my hands on them in a shop, but I really dislike doing that since I'd probably be going home and buying online.

I'd ask them how close they could get to the online price - I don't mind paying a small amount for the ability to take it easily back to a store if there is an issue. Plus I value the store being there in the first place

And if they can't budge on the price can they include memory cards, money off a bag, etc...

Tbh if you have big hands then look at an later or used xxD body like a 60d
