Anyone got any preferred combinations for a cost effective refresh I could apply to a 2002 Defender 90 SW that has started to show a spring sagging at the rear. I'm tempted to replace all 4 springs and all 4 shocks to be consistent.

Thoughts?

Well the obvious question is - what do you want to do with it and what are you expecting. And do you have any budget constraints.

e.g. replacing it with stock part will make it like a newer stock vehicle. Perfectly adequate and reasonably well rounded.

However if you want more off road ability, with more flex, articulation, droop and maybe a lift. Then you'll need to look at completely different items.

If you are wanting a more focused road vehicle, with less body roll and a lower stance, again you'll have to look elsewhere.

Honing it for a particular use, will however have an effect on it's other attributes.

Make sure you do the bushes too...

Personally, I fit OE rubber ones to my Defender but either way, a new set of bushes makes a massive difference to handling.
