GT3 running costs

If I was to purchase a used 997 GT3 with a Porsche 2 year warranty 111 point check and full service history.
What are the estimated annual running/service costs ?

How many miles will you do, and what use for the car (daily driver, weekend car, track days, mixed etc etc).

Well services are every 2 years or 20k miles, and depending on the mileage ie type of service required, could be anything from I'd guess £400 to £1400 ??
Quite a few people I think would do an additional oil change between offical services, so you might add something approaching £200 for that at an OPC.

Running costs will depend entirely how and where you drive it, together with it's past history and mileage so difficult to say on that one.
Michelin Cup tyres only come with 5mm tread when new, so buying a used car with these on may not leave you with that many miles.
Some suspension & brake components may need replacing at some point after you buy it, which probably would not be covered under warranty.

Service intervals are 12k miles or 2 years. Porsche has fixed price servicing, check their website. Tyres £1400 ish a set. Brakes are the other significant cost but you have options of Indy or DIY.

Depends on how it has been used - my 996.2 GT3 needed new diff plates, rear dampers and ARB bushes by 20,000 miles

Tax £275 a year
Fuel mine did 30mpg+
Tyres £180-£250 each
service bits very reasonable tbh.

3000 miles a year change oil and filters min once if not twice a year for peace of mind.

Make sure you drive start the car monthly dont leave it months on end the seals dry up on diff and box.

In which case, if its road use I would say your running costs would just be fuel, tax and insurance.
You should get 2 years out of the tyres if its road use only, if not more - depends how you drive.

I would put £1500 aside each year to cover the big bills. Plus warranty after year 2. So £3k in year 3 onwards pretty much.
Which brings me back to my figure from my 997 which was £1/mile. And I also did similar mileage.
Anything less is a bonus.

If its track use... the sky is the limit!

Dont forget to factor in your oil changes (as stated above) plus things like detailing and the like.

Insurance £415.00
Tax last month £490.00
Minor service FOC negotiated when purchased the car.
2 rear tyres £640.00
Plus fuel
Lots of cleaning products
Ive done 5,500 mile in a year
