Looking to buy a PS3 specifically for Singstar, Best 2 wait?

Talking over the weekend with the Mrs.
We currently have an XBox 360 with mics and some Lips games, but I believe when it comes to singing games, the Singstar range takes some beating.
My plan is to buy a PS3, preferably one which is backwards compatible for PS2 titles in case they have more Singstar games and go from there.
The Blueray facility would also be nice, as it will sit with my new 58" big-ass TV.
Do you think the prices will drop when the new PS4 comes out?
I am probably looking at 2nd hand through CEX or similar.
Do I need a big hard drive if I am only doing singing games on it?
