After a few years of lurking, I finally found 'the' car of my childhood dreams and I took delivery on Friday from Aston Martin of Amersham.

Its a 2005 DB9 with 30K and clear light upgrade and was not actually for sale on their forecourt - I popped in when on my way to a certain Independent dealer to look at another DB9 and it was their being serviced and the Sales Manager convinced the owner (a great guy as I have spoken to him on several occasions) to let it go as he wanted to purchase a DB7 GT as he had had one previously and wanted another.

Now the pics:

So far I've done the following:

Fuse 22 - GONE!!!!
Interior lights - converted to LED (amazing difference)
Glass button kit - ordered!!!!
Looking for a set of sport alloys as they are great on this colour combo
Want to replace the door capping's with piano blacks to match the ski ramp

Looking forward to meeting a few of you over the coming months prior to a trip to Italy in April / May 2014 to visit a friend who works as a designer for Ferrari to show him what a proper car looks like.

Sorry to disappoint the V8 and V12 members, but I'm still young, hip and down with kids so no 'easy listening' CD's in the deck or the need for a bi-focal windscreen.

The good news is lovely car, enjoy.
The bad news is that you are talking to some big grown up geezers here who do not take easy to new forum members casting aspersions on their manhood, however your youthful exuberance might be excused, just this once ! nono

rest assured that I'm not that young - just turned 40 hence the mid life crisis to either:

A) Have an affair with a 21 year old blonde girl (but as I spent too many years on the rugby field and in the military and I look like the elephant man's less attractive brother) - ruled this one out quite early on
B) Buy a Harley Davidson - don't think so
C) Buy an Aston and pretend I'm James Bond - DONE!!!!!

Let the abuse begin...................

Did your DB9 come with the bifocal windscreen option and did you get the wipe clean seat covering?

Well not realising you were a military and army man I welcome you with my open muscly arms and take back my previous comments but James Bond, pleeeze.
As for your lack of good looks stopping you from pulling a young bird ,remember it's the size of your baton that counts ! smile
P.S. From the comments on your first post and the fact that you said you were young I thought you were about 12 years old.

Tungsten with black leather - yes I know, common as............... but it does look very good in that combo.

Ref the James Bond - in a dark room with a strong squint I could be????

Would also like to ask you fellow 'experts' - do they do a replacement side repeater in a light smoke as I think they would suit the lines of the car a little better as the current ones are a little 'retro'???

I did wonder if the Mazda MX-5 variant would fit but any help or advice would be gratefully received, thanks

I like that colour combo, it looks to be in very nice condition. Did you convert the door puddle lights to LEDs too?

All lights converted to LED - they really do make a huge difference and would recommend to anybody thumbup

Condition is pretty good although the supplying dealers idea of a valet includes washing it in mud and leaving to soak!!!! I valeted it myself yesterday and applied Nanolex paint sealer as I have used it before on the Porsche Cayennne we also own and I have to admit its bloody good stuff!!! I've used them all previously - Swisswax mystery (that hurts the wallet when you buy a tub yikes),Zymol, DODO Juice.............. and the beading and finish you get with the paint sealer's is excellent.

Its got to go back to the supplying dealers on Thursday to 'tweak' a few faults and get the alloys refurbished as they weren't done for when I collected the car (got bored of waiting and wanted a play driving), so I expect I'l be without it for a week - at least when its back it should look amazing!!!
