Hi folks,

I hope this doesn't brake any forum rules but I have recently found these on eBay. I have no affiliation with the seller, I am only posting as I am interested in them and would like more information.

What do you reckon? I was looking at V8D's Stage 3 heads, but as these will (hopefully) be a bit cheaper I thought they may be worth a look.

They are probably equivelent of Robs stage 3 at best.

Looking at the port walls inbetween the pairs of ports, this still seems quite substantial.

I would be tempted to go the whole hog on a pair of stage 4s.

Maybe the OP should give the seller a call - there's more to porting than simply maximising the size of the holes and I suspect those heads might not be too shoddy in the flow department wink

+1 JE heads actually reduce the holes, John told me TVR heads were two big. Have a word with Dom and he will tell you the spec and rationale.

I have been speaking to the owner. He says they are from a TVR Power engine build, it made 304ish Bhp with some other mods. He has no idea what 'stage' they are as TVR Power does not do 'stages' but would guestimate around Stage 2 on the way to 3.

I have just bought his enlarged plenum and thermo base. Still undecided about the heads, I want Stage 3, proper.

I've asked this question on another thread but do stage 3/4 heads lower the torque of an engine in the low to mid range for the benefit of power at the top end?

No, can't see that.

My 4.6 with stage 4 heads developed 323 bhp and 350 torque.

Rob's Stage 3, Warrior heads are £1200 and the Stage 4, Dominator are £1600 I think.

Stage 1's which we have droped now as the benefit to customers didn't out weigh the cost.

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for the plenum? he is asking £300 for an inlet manifold which is way too high!!

Of course not, I paid £160 for the plenum and plate.

Rob, out of interest, what do you think of the heads he is selling, compared to your own Stage 3 Warrior heads?

honestly nick, they are no more than our stage 1's, which we now don't sell anymore, as value for money you are betting off going straight to stage 2/3/4. as for making 304bhp I don't think so!!, sorry to ask again but was this seller called dave?

I modified my 500 heads myself. Cant have been that bad as they gave nearly 330 bhp on the 4.6
Maybe i would have had more power if i left them alone laugh

I asked him about the inlet manifold and thermal gasket but he wanted way too much money, you can get it a LOT cheaper on exchange from V8D with 45mm trumpets
