Looks like a dead duck from where I sit.

Not that I encourage cookie cutter games like FIFA 13,14,15 ad nauseum, but I read that some of the big firms weren't going to port their games across due to the processor architecture being too different to the new playstation and xbox.

Curse or blessing, I'll let you decide, but reduced choice is a bad thing.

But a new Mario game....hmmm.

I've got one, just starting to hit its stride now, nearly a year after release. The Wind Waker remake is excellent and the new Mario game looks great, but there's still not enough there games-wise to really recommend a purchase. Give it another few months once the likes of Mario Kart and a new Zelda are on the horizon and things might be different.

I've only got it as I'm a console kleptomaniac.

Have a look at Knack on the PS4, plus there's Lego Marvel Superheroes which is very good. I'd argue the PS4 probably has a slightly better kid-friendly line-up at the moment, certainly for launch.

Anyone else got one of these? Thinking of picking one up for Xmas as a family present, Lego City/Smurfs etc for a 6 and 4yr old. Oh and dad too wink

Not really a massive Mario, Zelda type thing fan, just wondering what people's thoughts were?

Got one for the kids (6 & 8) as a family christmas present last year, lots of fun with the bundled Nintendoland game and the only other game they have is Skylanders Giants.

Gets played every day (or would if they could get away with it), they love it, lots of replay value on both the games.

Getting Lego City Undercover for them this year and probably Skylanders Swap Force.

Keeps them off the ps3 smile

Just wanted to add to this thread as I've just bought a Wii U for my son's birthday with Mario 3D (just released), latest Sonic and Super Mario Bros. The backward conpatability is also a decent selling point if you've already got lots of stuff from the previous console.

We've had a 4 player gaming session on Mario3D with some cousins again tonight, did the same on his birthday too. Absolutely brilliant fun, 4 and 6 year old messing about, while I'm trying to complete it properly with all the stars etc. I can't help it, I just have to, it's in my gaming nature.

The gamepad itself is also pretty good, lots of apps available to use and download to use on there, like a tablet PC, so Netflix etc. all work great and there's a standard headphone auxiliary output on it so you don't disturb someone watching the TV.

One final thing, I programmed the gamepad to work the Sky and TV too, for some reason I just found that really cool, even though I know it's not particularly impressive.

I bought a Wii U instead of a PS4 or XB1. It cost £180 for a preowned premium from GAME....With Assassins Creed Black Flag.
This is an awesome console, I have no idea why it isn't very popular.
I love Zombiu, very intense and the new Mario game is just so damn epic.
What the console needs is a serious racing game, thankfully Project Cars is coming to Wii U. Not until late next year mind you.

Anyone want to do any Co-op Splinter Cell Black List?

Anyone get one over Christmas? Opinions changed? Down to 179 quid now in Argos for the premium and its looking a tempting partner for my XBox One, especially with Mario 3D World and the imminent MarioKart 8. Is it a dead duck or just finding it's feet? scratchchin

Yeah I got one eventually, really impressed but I fear it is a dead duck tbh. Very poor support in pretty much every retailer I've been in apart from game, where it is allocated floor space on a par with the PC...ie very little but way more than most.

It's a real shame as I think it's fantastic, I've got a few games but haven't got past lego city sofar; my 6 yr old loves playing most of it whilst daddy does the hard bits wink and my 4 yr old Lego City addict watches, absolutely entranced. It's kind of like GTA in the Lego world and it's utterly enthralling using the game pad to very good effect. I'd really like to try the Mario game and Zelda aswell but I'm only 6% the way through the Lego one hehe Anyway, for the price I think it's a bargain and dead duck or not, it has some awesome games available, buy with your eyes open and you can't go wrong at under £200 smile

I won't need any persuading if they bring a Zelda game out, but thanks for your opinion.

Probably playing it more than my PS4 at the moment, it's great.

It's got a few big titles due out in the next few months never going to compete with the big 2 but as a fun gaming machine you can't beat it.
