Yeah I get classic car mart and its the same there. I think a lot of sellers assume that as its in a classic car mag it's worth a fortune. I've seen MKIV Escorts for silly money (and not of the XR or turbo models). There is some good stuff though if you hard and I love to play the £5k budget game to see what joys I could have.

Guess its supply and demand though....they only need 1 person who missed out on the car first time round to really want one and now have disposable income to bring back some memories.

In recent years it seems that as you get bugger all interest on savings everyone has bought classic cars.

I was considering a 328 a few years ago for £15k - you can easily double that now
