finally got round to fitting the rollcage now that the body is in place and being bolted down too.

That's a nice looking cage, and I like the way you've fitted into the A pillars. Was there no way to get the front leg further forward to clear the door opening?

The cage is to MSA specification and that means vertical front legs from the dash down to the floor.

I can (and probably will) run just the rear section when not on competition.

Must say that having some side impact protection would be a very reassuring change. It's scary how flimsy those outriggers are, and the fiberglass is hardly going to stop anything. It's not nice to think that if I slide into a lamppost, my body is going to be protecting the transmission tunnel.

just a word of warning:

the cage needs to be bespoke - every car is different. My car is slightly different offside to nearside. I've needed to perform minor changes to the mounting points because the cage was designed when the body was off the chassis (although supported to give the same door gaps etc.) And then I put a new chassis under it! So some extra mounting areas added to the chassis too.
