Pinking or Overfuelling

My old cerb was pinking under light throttle (1800 rpm)

Nothing serious in the end, just engine setup, which I fixed by just following the cerbera manual on balancing airflow and setting up the throttle potentiometers correctly.

But one question that did spring to mind was which is worse: Pinking or Overfuelling?

Pinking!! Big time!
If I was you maybe time to bite the bullet and stick the expensive juice in her. Pinking sends temps sky high and can melt internals never mind catalysts.

Why was it pinking in the beginning ?

Were you using cheaper fuel or is the engine higher compression ?

Did they have to retard the timing to deal with it?

It was pinking under light throttle (1800 rpm). I always use 98/99 - it was nothing serious in the end, just engine setup, which I fixed by just following the cerbera manual on balancing airflow and setting up the throttle potentiometers correctly.
It's grand now, perhaps over fueling slightly, but it pulls from tickover right up through the rev range perfectly now.

My old Cerb had sticking throttle bushes ( we eventually found out) which led to chronic over fuelling. End result? shot valve guides.
