Sorry if it's a repost.

Caterham launches bike division.

I didn't see that coming.

Wow, those look amazing! That Brutus, reminds me of a thing I saw in the early eighties. Big balloon tyres, not a trike. Good to se something similar - should be good for snow.

They are f&*cked, I am all for weird and wacky design but that does not translate into a sound business idea.

OMG the search function actually worked!!!

I was just about to start a thread on this.

Some interesting concepts but as said above, not really something I think Caterham should be getting into as sound business.
Will be interesting to see prices mind. Novelties are usually covered in Porsche badges and are tried to be sold for a fortune. Someone taking it more seriously than just a novelty and trying to make a go of it might actually sell a few.

The last two I sort of get. Especially the carbon E-bike. But an "Off road two wheel SUV"?! Get the fk out of here!

If it rides well and was cheap, I'd get one...

'Left field' is the term I was thinking of.

They look properly bonkers. Real headline grabbers.

Cool looking electric bikes.

These are just 3D models, none of these bikes will ever be made. Its just a marketing stunt.

Interesting direction for Caterham Group, they are certainly expanding their portfolio.

Will these require tax, mot & insurance like a normal motorbike? A rear numberplate won't help the lines much.
The chunky one is a single cylinder 750cc so yes.

The 2 electric ones will be limited to 15mph so will not require any of the above.

Heavy weights and a big form-over-function factor is what came to mind on first sight. Not really in the line of what you'd expect wearing a caterham badge, are they?

Aside from the looks of them, the concern I have, is where is all the money company from for all these programs. F1, Alpine JV, bikes, etc.

I do hope Tony whats his name is not signing them up to a massive debt.

"Caterham claims it is the first motorcycle to use an automatic transmission"

Er,... no, far from it.

Good luck to them all the same.

Fat bike tyres & rims, Emotors and batteries, chunky swing arms and forks. Those Ebikes are gonna be pretty dam heavy! (and they don't seem to have left any space for all the batteries that will be required to drag them around)
