Which compact point and shoot?

Got an OK, larger Fuji Digital and also a small Fuji compact J30 point and shoot to keep in the car 'just in case'. Thing is they don't bounce, so need to replace it.
What are the options around the cheap bottom end now? Don't want to spend loads as it's rarely used. Also WiFi on a camera?

Personally, I use something called iPhone, from a company called Apple.

It has a pretty easy to use form and set up. They built in Wifi. It does video - you can even do slo-mo stuff! The image quality is perfectly good for everyday snaps. It even lets me do some on screen manipulating. A little keyboard comes up when I want to type a title into Flickr or FaceSplat. It lets me look at the PH P&V forum and brings me the latest news from Nikon when I need it.


I dunno what else it does. But it seems good value compared to some of the other "compact" cameras out there...

I find this to be very useful. Recent holiday in Vegas we used the wifi to transfer images off camera to our tablet/smartphones, allowing us to edit and upload to Internet. Much better than waiting till we got home, and without need for removing memory cards or carrying wires around.

I believe it's also a shaver, a mousetrap, a rape alarm, a travel iron, a smoke detector and has a thing for getting the stones out of horses' hooves.

...it might also be handy if it opened shellfish, but I don't think it does ...

And it mends broken down cars if you say the right code words to it ("Siri, ring the bleedin' RAC!!")

And, not kidding here: I don't think it at all bad at phototrickerymajig....
